The House

The house is on a cul de sac at the end of a quiet residential street. A friendly family with three young, well-behaved children lives next door, and they host activities with other parents with young children from time to time.

The first floor consists of the living room, dining room, kitchen, den with fireplace, powder room and coat closet. Solid hardwood flooring runs through the entry way, powder room, living room and dining room. The upstairs contains four bedrooms and two full bathrooms and is also floored with solid hardwood. The first and second floor are 1923 square feet. The basement occupies most of the footprint of the house, making it perhaps 800 square feet. It is half finished and half unfinished. A wall with french doors divides the two halves. The finished half contains a small closet. The unfinished half houses the washer and dryer, gas furnace, tankless water heater, and an extra combination refrigerator/freezer.

Living Room

Living Room

A bay window on the right looks out to the front yard.

The living room opens to the right off the entry hall. It is 20 feet long and 13 feet wide. Please don’t mind the bookcase I just disassembled and the white wall behind it — that will be painted! The blue ceiling fan does not convey, but it will be replaced with an attractive substitute.

Bay Window

Sun shining through a prism hanging in the bay window casts rainbows over the whole room. Plants and pets love the afternoon sun.

The bay window in the living room is 11 feet wide. The two side windows open.

Dining Room

Dining Room

The dining room table can be included with purchase of the house. It has two leaves and extends to nearly 8 feet long, comfortably seating 8-10 people.

The dining room is 12 feet long and 11 feet wide. It features a hand-painted mural on three walls, and it is lit by a chandelier and four sconces. It is open to the living room on one side, and has a doorway to the kitchen just out of the photo to the left. Through the window, you can see the backyard shed, 20 feet away up a small hill.
